Well, since gardening season is long over I (and some others) thought that it was time for a new post on my long neglected blog! Today we got together with friends for our annual Christmas baking bee. We started at 9am and left at 3:30 with a truck full of tired kids and lots of sweets. We made sugar cookies, cinnamon twists, eat more bars, oh Henry bars and chocolate caramel thumb prints. We've done this for about 5 years now and so we have a system pretty much down pat. I don't really like baking so doing it with someone else (who loves to bake and is great at it) makes it alot of fun.
B helps with the test tasting!
These look REALLY bright in this picture!
We have a December tradition at our supper table with this baking. Everyone gets to pick one treat for desert and each child takes turns taking orders and going to the freezer to fill the orders and then serving them.
It feels good to have the freezer stocked however having these tempting treats staring at me when I go to the freezer isn't good for my getting fit plans!!!
