WE ARE EXPECTING!!! Our Adoption Announcement!

We are beyond excited to announce that we will be expanding our family through adoption!  We have felt lead to adopt for about 6 years now and we just couldn't come up with a reason to say no any longer so we are stepping out in faith.  God's heart is for the orphans and we want to align our hearts with His.
"I will not leave you as orphans. I will come for you!" John 14:18
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
We have been adopted by God into His family as dearly loved children and we want to extend the love of a family to 2 children who don't have the loving touch of a Daddy and Mommy.
So this blog will become our adoption story.  We hope that you will follow along and pray for us as we walk this journey to bring our children HOME!

Our Story starts on 12/12/12...

We had our first appointment with our adoption agency to ask questions and hear about their programs.  I was still on crutches from tearing my quad muscle but we hobbled into their office to meet Oleg and talk about starting an adoption.  We didn't have a specific country in mind but we knew we were open having 2 children.  I was shaking the whole meeting as we talked about different countries and the differences in processes, costs, time lines and a mired of other things.  I had followed so many adoption blogs and I could hardly believe that it was actually our turn.  Of the four countries that this agency works with we chose to adopt from Ukraine.  We left that night bursting with excitement and nearly in tears (OK there were some tears) at the thought of this huge step we committed to take.

We don't know how we are going to complete the adoption, but God does.  We don't have 40k lying around to pay these children's ransom, but God does.  We don't have lots of energy and time to spare, but God does.
We do have a willingness to be obedient to God and we are excited to see how He will work in us, and in those around us to care for 2 Ukrainian children whom we don't even know...  but God does!

Here is a short video about Ukrainian orphans made by a mother who also adopted from Ukraine.
Try this link if the video won't play from here.

I will post more details in the next few days and will share them to Facebook for those who want to link over here from there.
