We got a call this week from our agency whom by the way we are very pleased with, that there are some changes in Ukraine in regards to the home study. Our contact person Oleg is flying to Ukraine tomorrow to work together with the in country team to figure what these changes entail. This is par for the course with international adoption. Oleg was not worried at all but because of the changes we will not be submitting our paper work (dossier) to Ukraine in August. He keeps saying in his thick Ukrainian accent "we have lots of time." We are glad he is so relaxed!
There will be a lot more about this journey that we have no control over so we had better just get used to going with the flow!
On another front, we have booked a date to hold a fund raising supper!
Here is the info we have so far
When:September 19th
Where: Winkler Mennonite Church
Why:To help raise the rest of the funds required to give 2 orphans a family
Who: YOU! Bring as many people as you can!!
What:We are planning a Kielke & Sausage menu
How?????? I have no idea! We have never done anything like this before! It is a daunting and humbling task! Who likes to be in need? Oh well, I guess we will have to give our pride a kick in the pants and move forward!
Pray for us if you think of it! We'll be needing it!
