On October 17th we hosted a Ukrainian supper at the Winkler Mennonite Church in order to raise funds for our adoption. We have previously made and frozen 3000 meatballs and 500 cabbage rolls. If it wasn't for the help of friends and family I could not have made all that food on my own!
The morning of the supper we had a group of very willing workers to help peel potatoes, put meatballs on pans and cabbage rolls in roasters, set the tables and get everything ready. We worked until lunch time and then most everything was ready to go!
At 4pm all of the servers arrived and ate before the supper started.

All set up and ready to go! About 30 people took time to bake desserts for our event and we are very thankful for all of you! The desserts looked great and everyone got more than enough.
These young men were the dish crew and I can't tell you how impressed I was! They stuck with the dish pit from the time the supper started at 4:00 and didn't leave until every dish was washed at 8:00! Not too many young guys would do that! Thanks guys!!!!
These were some of the first wave of folks who came to the supper. Our hosts from the church at Oak Lake Manitoba came all the way (3 hr drive) just to surprise us and have some meatballs! The Schwindts and the Enns' really made my day! They have served us many meals when we have been at Oak Lake and it was a pleasure to return the favor! Thanks for coming!
About 300 people ate supper that day and blessed our family with $10,500 to give a family to 2 children with out one. God has blessed us once again!
Darla Penner, the founder of our agency Eastern European Ukrainian Adoption Services came out from Winnipeg and we were so glad that she make the extra effort!
Many of our friends stayed to help clean up and take some of the extra meatballs home!
Once again, we are so thankful for all of the help we received that day! We could not have done this without it!
A special thank you to my Mom and sister Esther who worked tirelessly to pull this off! They were the first to arrive and the last to leave! I love you both!
Thanks also to my Aunt Tina Enns and Marge Krahn who gave from their wealth of experience in catering and mass food production! You were invaluable!
