April and May are fun months around our place. First of all I love spring and starting to be outside more with everything in nature coming alive again. On top of the beauty that the Lord gives us in spring we have 2 April Birthdays in our family and my brothers birthday and mother's day in May. So here is a little recap of those special events!
Our first lunch outside in the spring is always an anticipated event so even with a bit of snow left and an abundance of puddles we picnic-ed on the trampoline.
My baby turned 6 in April! We had a beautiful day to celebrate and even though we were not feeling up to speed due to the flu we packed up and went to the zoo for the day. It had been 10 years since we visited the Winnipeg Zoo so we thought it was time! We have officially decided this can be a once a decade event. The next time we go we will take our grandkids. We had fun but it is a rather expensive walk and the kids were far more interested in getting off the path and into places they shouldn't be. Maybe the Pembina Valley Provincial Park is more our style.
Next was Josiah's turn and he entered the double digits this year! The big 10! He has some friends over for a wiener roast. Shayla organized a scavenger hunt for them and they they did some horse back riding. Josiah was thrilled to have his first friends Birthday party!
We just can not recap this spring without mentioning the arrival of Benny the Bull. He is the newest addition to the Thiessen yard. Travis walked him (or should I say Benny the Bull walked Travis) all the way from the neighbors yard to our pasture where he now resides with Shadow and Ralph and they seem to get along splendidly!
Mother's Day 2015. I didn't want it to end! The kids and Travis treated me like royalty all day long! They all got up very quietly on Sunday morning and made me a nice breakfast and surprised me in bed with it along with cards and gifts.
After our church gathering they treated me to lunch and a nice nap. Then we headed to Altona where my folks rented a private indoor pool for the afternoon to celebrate Mother's Day and Birthdays. What a great time we had! Then we went to their house for a BBQ.
My big brother turned 40!!! It is hard to believe that he is that old! Birthday's are very important to him and we enjoyed swimming and celebrating with him. He loves his nieces and nephews or as he calls them "the grandkids."
We have nearly finished all of our school for the year and so while we have really enjoyed the motiventure and everyone is moving through the ranks we have decided to continue the adventure in August when we start up book work again.
ADOPTION, we are registered in Bulgaria since the beginning of April and we we are awaiting our phone call letting us know that our children have been chosen for us. We have no idea when that could happen but the Lord does and we are trusting in His perfect timing!
Wow! Hard to believe that Darren is 40!! Wishing him a great year!
