We started our day by going to get pictures done of Sevi and Geero for their Canadian visas. Yup that is CANADIAN visas! That was exciting although I don't think they totally understood that but we sure did. It made it all seem even more real!
Then we went back to our hotel and I did Sevi's nails with colours that she picked out on Tuesday. She picked (I picked and she OK'd the choice because choices is not something that she is used to and after standing in front of the nail polishes for a long time I realized that a choice from her was not going to come) a medium pink base colour and a purple sparkle top coat. It was very pretty! Travis and Geero built the Lego plane that Grandma and Grandpa sent for him. He really did not want to do Lego. I think he thought that there wounld just be a toy in the box but once he got going he really liked it and was pretty proud of the finished product! He has lots of Lego to look forward to once he gets home! The kids had so much fun learning to swim the day before that it was all they wanted to do so off to the pool we went. The four of us took a taxi to the pool instead of walking in the heat. The social worker and or translator had a few errands so we went on ahead. It was another great afternoon at the pool! We played volleyball with our lighthouse beach ball and worked on swimming. Geero was swimming without help by the end of the afternoon. We ordered lunch and ate beside the pool. They have started to eat more as the week progressed which is good because the amount of energy they were using. Geero found the water very cold so every time he got in he wanted me to hold him so that he would get used to the water before starting to swim. He held on tight and said "jump." Then I jumped up and down until he was wet and used to the water. He pressed his little cheek against mine and hung on. This little boy needs a mommy in his life!
Travis and Sevi really enjoyed playing with a few of the other kids in the pool and she gleamed when we introduced her with her new name and as our daughter to the other girls in the pool. She is such a gem! Once we were all tuckered out we walked back to the hotel to play a quick game of Neeshto before we met with an English teacher that we potentially wanted to hire for the children. The day before we met with an English teacher who totally turned us off. She needed a translator to tell us about the English program she was going to teach our kids! oops! We would have NEVER had her spend any amount of time with our children! It looked like she may have had a second job in the evenings😏if you know what I mean. So the social worker found another option and she came to meet us. She had a relaxed, caring and happy demeaned about her. AND she spoke English! We knew that she was the right person right away and after talking with her we were even more convinced that she would be gentle and encouraging with Sevi and Geero.👌She will teach them in her home 2 times per week until we come to pick them up. They had their first lesson this week Monday and Sevy said that she really likes it! Praise the Lord for taking care of the details!
Back to our last day. Once the meeting was over the psychologist met with the children one last time before we parted ways to see how they were doing. In all honesty we didn't need a professional to tell us how they were feeling but procedures must be followed. Once she finished her piece we took the kids for one last icecream and then it was time to say good bye. We hugged like crazy and then walked out to the parking lot where their foster father was waiting for them. We thanked him again for the care that he is giving our kids and we took pictures with him. He is someone who our family won't forget. We watched them drive off in a car that looked like it would not hold together but they are in the Lord's hands and He loves them even more than we do. Hard is the only way to describe leaving your children in a situation that you have no control over and no way to protect them. We will skype 2x per week together with the English teacher so at least we will keep in contact.💞
We took the taxi back to the city and went for supper before boarding a plane back to Sofia.
